For those who want to join the first leg of the bike for life, you have 2 choices on how to get back to Manila.
First choice is to take the bus. Bikes can be loaded in the baggage compartment. I got charged P50 per bike. Of course, you may have to distribute the number of bikes among the buses available depending on the capacity of their baggage compartments. Buses ply the Batangas Pier-Manila 24 hours a day. JAM, Tritran, JAC are some of the bus companies that ply the route. There are also service vans that you can rent at the pier going home to manila. Which brings us to the 2nd choice.
A friend talked to Oca Hidalgo, President of the Batangas Mountain Bikers. According to him, he has a van that can be rented out to cyclists going to Manila. He can also make arrangements for other vans if needed. Charge is from P2,500 to P3,500 per van. He'd like to get a head count of those who are going.
