Highlights:
The bikers pedalled to Kalibo, Aklan via the coastal road. It was one scenic ride. The Caticlan Cycling Club met up with the B4L riders. Along the road, there were many other bikers who joined them from the different towns. The Aklan Cycling Club made their presence felt and joined the peloton amidst the heavy rains. According to them, there should have been more riders but because of the bad weather, there were only a few of them. Nonetheless, there were 40 riders all in all and it was such a nice ride.
The forum was held at the AVR of Dr. Rafael Tumbokon Memorial Hospital. It was an intimate crowd since the audience was composed of 3rd year nursing students. Jay Suansing, one of the tatay bikers shared his experience with his 2-year old daughter that has been diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 11 months old. He emphasized on the importance of having responsible nurses. There have been a lot of cases in Manila where nurses were giving incorrect treatments to patients.
Mrs. Agnes Sarmiento also shared the struggle of his son, Jason, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Medistinal Germ Cell Tumor and who also passed away in 2003. She flew all the way from Manila to share her story. James shared his personal experience as well. At the end of the forum, some were teary-eyed, some were glowing with inspiration. The Bike for Life team challenged the aspiring nurses to be responsible medical professionals and spread the awareness on this dreaded disease.

The Bike for Life team took the 8pm-12mn roro ride from Roxas City to Caticlan. According to Edsel, it was a horrific ride. In my book, it's the worst ride I've taken in my life. I was vomitting for 3 straight hours and I've never felt so weak. I thought I was the only one who felt sick but right after the ride, everybody was drained. It seemed that I wasn't alone. It was also one of the worst for most of us.
