Highlights:
The parking lot of Alabang Town center was bustling with activities at 5:30 am. Media, riders, family and friends flocked to mark the send-off of the riders to their 2-week adventure. The morning ceremony was hosted by TJ Manotoc, who introduced James. James shared a few words opf encouragement that cancer can be beaten and highlighted the participation of the tatay bikers and some of the kids with cancer who were present. Team David's Salon, the first all-women multisport team, joined the first leg to show support on this worthy cause.
The ride started with only 30 people from Alabang. Upon reaching Lipa City, the number of riders surged up to 200 (Thanks to the participation of BMB!). The group was served unlimited gatorade and snacks on each rest stop. Upon reaching the municipality of Batangas city, the group was welcomed by the city government.
The cancer forum started at 2pm and ended at around 4pm. It was jampacked by people who would like to know more about cancer. There were sharings from people who were afflicted by the disease and there were information sharing from the expert doctor. Out of the 80 wards of the foundation, 50% are from Batangas.
